DIY FIREPLACE TILE REFRESH
This project has been almost 3 years in the making, I have been thinking about doing this for almost 3 years now and I don’t know why it took me so long to just do it other than thinking it might now work out or look good.
Reasons I love it:
It isn’t permeant, yes they are stuck on there but it isn’t ruining the existing tile.
It was affordable, lets face it I don’t have a crazy amount of time or money to be ripping out my tile and having a construction zone now that Remy is into everything. This option was perfect for us right now.
Super Easy! Once we got the center tile figured out the rest was super easy to lay out.
The two tiles right next to the top center tile are not the same size as all of the other tiles {go figure} so we had to map out a plan to get it all fitting the right way and so it didn’t look weird.
My tips:
Measure out each tile on it’s own and make a plan before you start laying them on the existing space.
Get a ruler and make a line for where you need to trim the tile.
Once you have lined it and figured out where you will want to be cutting the tile use a good quality pair of kitchen sheers. I know this sounds nuts but I will tell you the instructions said to use a straight edge razor and I had a really hard time getting a perfect edge until i switched over to the kitchen sheers.
This project definitely for someone who wants something different, affordable and fast. I don’t think this is a permeant solution for any surface but it is a really fun way to change up a space and not break the bank.
