8 SHELF STYLING TIPS TO ELEVATE YOUR SPACE

1. First I start by picking my color palette. For our builtin I stuck with the neutrals , greens and golds that you can find all throughout our home.

2. When picking my decor I keep in mind the neutral color palette but I know when also incorporating the greens with faux plants will help give the space some life. Even if they are just faux plants. ;)

3. For styling shelves think of them as a whole even if they are separated by a bench, mirror or something else. You should also make sure you have a completely cleared of space to work with so you can see the blank canvas.

4. As I’m styling any space I want objects that go together but differ in height. As you can see throughout the styling in our home I use this technique everywhere.

5. When I’m starting to style my shelves I work in a diagonal pattern. The plants are diagonal from each other, the circular items and the one rectangular in nature are as well.

6. Don’t be afraid to layer your decor pieces as well. As you can see in their photo I have the rattan fan in the back adding some texture to the shelf and making the photo and plants pop.

7. The most important tip I have is not to forget less is more. You want things to looked collected and not cluttered. Remember friends white space is your friend.

8. My last tip is to make sure you keep stepping back as you are styling your shelves to see them as a whole and not just the single shelf you are styling. I do this throughout the process to make sure I like how this is looking. Don’t be afraid to take things away if you don’t like it, you can always use that piece of decor in another spot later.
