GUEST BATHROOM REMODEL
We did it! We finally painted our bathroom cabinets and transformed this space into a room we love! I am so happy with how it has all turned out but first lets go back to the start of making this space what it looks like today! First it was over a year ago now when we called up our painter and asked him to come over and paint the bathroom and large stairway walls, I would of loved to have him paint the cabinets also but it just wasn’t in our budget at the time. After our painter did his job we hung the new lighting in there and the new mirrors. The original mirrors were just the generic ones that most builder grade homes have and it just wasn’t the look I wanted in there, I did look into getting it framed, but it would cost more than just buying two new mirrors.
A year later Greg and I painted the cabinets and all of the other details have rolled together so easliy, which I have to say isn’t always the case with the projects I take on a lot of the time is can take a lot of searching for things to find the right fit and look for the saces I’m working on but thankfully with this project that wasn’t the case and we were able to get it all done beofre crazy Covid-19 happened. I originally wanted to sand all of the cebinets down to a lighter wood but that just didn’t work out I started to realize in order for me to get to the color I really wanted them to be I would of been sanding them for days and I just didn’t want to spend all that time into it so plan B of painting them was the best choice!
My thought process through the design was to keep it true t the rest of our home white cabinets and the black hardware, I like that not all of our bathrooms in our home look the same but see keep that traditional coastal farmhouse feel and thats the feeling I love! I also wanted it to remind me of my parents and their ranch since they really use that room the most out of everyone.
We took about three days to paint the bathroom cabinets along with the ones in our hallway that we also finished at the same time. Each door has about 5 coast of paint on each side in Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace Mixed with Sherwin Williams paint.
Bathroom want list : Art, New bathroom hardware & accessories, black faucets, matching towels { best part of any bathroom design is matching towels lol} shower curatin, replace medicine cabinet, bathroom mats and a plant.
It felt so good to get this all done and have our home feel even more complete! The next project we really want to get done is our master bedroom built in but we aren’t carpenters and we know our friend would do a much better job than we ever could so that one will have to wait for now.
I hope all of you enjoyed our guest bathroom re model and as always if you have any questions at all you can leave a comment below! Stay healthy and safe my friends <3
